Maybe I'm dense today, but can someone explain what the advantage is of
using mailto:myname -at- myserver -dot- com in the e-mail message, when the reply
button does the same thing (other than not having to delete message
text)?

Even in browser/HTML e-mail systems (hotmail, etc.) you can use the
reply button.

When I try to use mailto: links in messages I receive, MS Exchange asks
me to configure Internet mail (insert names of mail servers, etc.); when
I hit reply, that's not required.
