Thank you to all those who replied to my question on downtime. The vast
majority of those who answered said that downtime is indeed a mass noun and
cannot be pluralized, at least not in the context I am using it in. I needed
downtime to describe periods of inactivity on the shop floor for a manual
that documents a manufacturing synchronization software.
