In Dallas they've started calling us P'n'P employees. If you're not
plug-n-play, that is ready to start producing when you're hired, then
you simply won't last.
I never speak 'theoretically;' everything I tell you is based on
personal experience. My story about certification is:
Two employees in my office, hired two weeks ago, lasted ONE WEEK. They
said they knew all the required DTP/Graphics Software. It was apparent
after three days that they didn't. Now they're gone.
Certification? What a joke. They both held a certificate (BA in a
communication field). All they did was screw up two books and now Tilly
and I are allowed to fix them. Oh, well. The pay's the same. And we're
still there, but neither of us has a CERTIFICATE.
