I am working with Word 97 documents; placing them on the Intranet. I
like using the Document Map feature but am having trouble using it. It
seems on some of the documents in our collection get miscellaneous junk
lines in the Document Map. I've gone in and made the changes necessary
- changing the levels on the style. The Document Map shows up okay - so
I do a save. When I go back in, all the junk is back, the levels have
returned to their previous settings. I am going crazy trying to figure
out why.
These are some of the things I have tried. Save as another name.
Copy the original document to another name, make changes, and save.
Others tried doing various things with this problem, and they, too, come
up with the same results; the file always goes back to the original
format with junk in the Document Map.
Can anyone help me with this? What the heck is going on? How
do I get the Document Map to stay changed as needed? Thanks,
Linda
