In addition to Peter's four suggestions, you can use the EQ field (do a
search in HELP for the exact options) to 'box' the field.

To box PF1, for example, you would use:

{eq \x(PF1)}

The one big disadvantage to this method is that it adds to the height of your
line, which will throw it off if you're using single spacing. But we did use
this method at one shop.

The EQ field can be used for a lot of other neat tricks too (most of them not
really very useful, but you'll impress your friends.)
