The what? I've never seen the World Wide Web or the Worldwide Web or
the WWW or the Web abbreviated quite like that before.

If I am referring to *the* Web, I capitalize it. (Don't know why really;
like Internet, it's not a proper name, just a unique name.) But I
digress. If "web" is part of a compound word, like "website", I don't
capitalize it. Of course there will be disagreement on whether website
is one word or two.

Goodness, this could spawn a whole group of sub-threads.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. At least until I read
somebody else's reply. I'm flexible.
