As other subscribers to this list have probably noted, I'm not one who
has remembered what mama taught me: If you can't say anything good about
someone/something don't say anything at all.

I am careful, however, not to publish libelous statements, and since I'm
not a lawyer, I get scared about publishing anything bad about a company
that I can't prove.

Having worked for many different agencies/temp services/job shops, I've
certainly come across several who are really, really bad. I've
published the names of those companies and will speak privately to
anyone about them.

Now, I have something good to say.

Computer Horizons Corporation is a company that serves several
metropolitan areas including Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, and others.

I've never had an agency that was as forward about what they'll do for
me as CHC. Everything they promised has been fulfilled.

We discussed the salary at which they would submit me to employers, and
as soon as the discussion was completed, they faxed a signed contract
with that salary noted.

My agent Eliza, called me at least twice each day while I was waiting
(unlike the others, who always simply disappeared and were unavailable
after the initial contact).

Monday, 12th, after the initial contact less than a week ago, and
without any interviews--either with CHC or with the employer, thanks to
Eliza and CHI, I reported to work at CitiCorp (software documentation).

The benefits are great with CHC.

Why was I hired with interviews? The resume!

Back when jobs were a bit more scarce than now (1981-1985) Tilly and I
went into the resume preparation business. While in that business (Top
o' The Stack in Dallas and Garland has been sold) we spent many hours
with hiring authorities just talking about what they want to see in a
resume and now use that information in preparation of our own CVs.

Anyway, we highly recommend DHC and Eliza to anyone interested in
employment in this area.

BTW, please mention my name. A clause in our contract says they will
pay me $1,500 (right! one thousand five hundred dollars) for a lead to a
new contractor! 8:))
