These problems are well known - also for other programmes than MS
Word!
The three most common reasons are:
- Hidden text switched on/off.
- Other settings like show/hide line shifts, etc.
- Printer selection/settings. If you change the printer selection or
settings just before printing, this may effect the pagination
significantly. Various printer settings like PostScript or PCL,
300 or 600 dpi, or switching to/from your pc-fax will slightly
influence how much space each character takes up, and may
consequently lead to differences in line endings and page shifts.
MS Word generates the page numbers during printing, but only
updates the TOC if the menu point: "Functions/Settings - Printing
- Update Fields" is set.
What to do is ...
1. Start the print-out via the menu File/Print.
2. Change the printer (settings) to what you intend to use.
3. Click Cancel.
4. Deselect show/hide line shifts, etc.
5. Check the pagination, especially around bottom of page hard page
breaks.
6. Update the TOC.
7. Start the printout.
I hope that helps you!
