One of the many subscription benefits of techwr-l is the
ability to post a Q and know there will be a flood of
reasoned replies.
HOW ''reasoned'' the reply partly depends upon how precise
the Q. For example -- and this is not a flame nor slam ...
it simply is current -- someone asked for a Ventura vs.
Interleaf comparison for ''long documents.'' A general Q
seeking a general A.

For one respondent, Ventura is great.
Another wrote that if conditions A, B, and C exist,
Intergrief is the better of the two.
Both answers are correct, but probably only one applies to
the original poster's intent ... no one knows if the
person posing the Q was creating documents with ''conditions
A, B, and C'' (ibid.)
The more precisely phrased the question, the more accurate
the answer(s).

...do not make a statement that cannot be easily
understood on the grounds that it will be understood
eventually. [Hillel - Avot 2:5]
