Information Design SIG Forum at 44th Annual Conference
Subject:Information Design SIG Forum at 44th Annual Conference From:Beth Mazur <mazur -at- MAYA -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 22 Apr 1997 10:19:52 -0500
In anticipation of very high attendance at the 44th Annual Conference
in Toronto, the program committee is busy trying to schedule some
additional sessions to minimize overcrowding.
Karen Schriver, Chair of STC's Information Design SIG Advisory
Panel, has volunteered to host an ID SIG forum at the conference:
"Design Matters: Lessons from Information Design Research"
The first part of the forum will include three case studies of research
showing why design matters. The latter part of the forum will be a
open discussion with questions from the field--a real-time list server,
in which the participants exchange news, facts, and opinions.
This session will be held from 10:30-noon in the Sheraton Cinema II on
Tuesday, May 13th. The ID SIG business meeting will follow immediately
afterwards in the Norfolk room. Please see your registration program
for more information.
