While I too get irritated by people who say, "me too", me too!
There are several tech writers here that use Ventura 4.2 and it is the
"official" publisher for our manuals. I will bet that there are a
large number of us out here, still using the old workhorse (and loving
it!).
We also have Word and have fought to keep it from becoming "the"
publishing tool. We fought it over the last several changes in
management. Yes we have considered FrameMaker (and purchased version
4.0) and we also have Ventura 7. We use Ventura 4.2.

So true!
We've all wondered how, despite so many real problems, Word continues to
be accepted--even demanded--by company management.
I suppose the answer may be its universal usage.
For at-home work, if the client doesn't object, we still use Ventura
4.2. Its capabilities usually exceed Word's, even though it's at least
five years old.
Add my name to the Hate Word list.
