Dan, is this manager a technical writer? She may also have some
hidden agenda (in other words, it not your work, but YOU). Generally
if someone is a good technical writer, he or she is also a good
business writer. There really is not a big difference as far as
effective communication goes.
You might tell her you'd really like to improve, so could she be more
specific, please?...perhaps give you some examples of how she would
rewrite it? That would give you an idea of whether she was on target
or just blowing smoke.
