I've seen a few computer books bound this way on the store shelf
(Waldenbooks, Borders, etc.), but have not done any projects that use it.
No ideas as to the cost...
I encountered "half-canadian" when I worked for ICL, a British company,
several years ago. We tried to find it here in the U.S., but were not
able to. (Granted, we didn't try very hard.)
Has anyone in the U.S. seen or used this type of binding?
Thanks!

Subject: Re: Binding formats
I don't know whether this has been mentioned yet, but there is a form of
binding called 'half-canadian'. This gives you a spiral bound manual
with a cover around the outside -- you get all the benefits of spiral
binding (lays flat, can be folded around etc) with the professional look
of perfect binding (spines for bookshelves etc).
I've used it recently for a suite of manuals, and I was delighted with
the result.
