Subject: Job Posting: Trainer / Technical Communicator Contract Position

The World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, a United
Nations specialized agency, is currently looking for a trainer / technical
communicator to begin working in Geneva immediately.

The Information Systems Management (ISM) division is looking for a
trainer/technical writer to assist in the development of training materials
and delivery of end-user training for its Activity Management System (AMS),
a newly developed project and budget management software system.

You will be working under the supervision of another trainer to develop
materials for the training.

We are looking for a trainer/writer who meets the following criteria:

has several years of solid, relevant experience in development of training
materials for turn-key computer systems (preferably corporate systems);
has several years of solid, relevant experience in delivery of end-user
training for turn-key computer systems (preferably corporate systems);
holds at least a Bachelor's degree, a degree in Technical Communication
would be a plus
Speaks English as a native language. A knowledge of French would be useful
because Geneva is in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, but not
necessary. The working language of WHO/ISM is English.
All printed documentation is being prepared in Word so experience using
Microsoft Word is essential.
Sensitivity to multi-cultural issues is essential.
Takes initiative?is a self-starter.
Enjoys working with programmers and users.
Knowledge of instructional design and training development issues an
absolute must.
graphics skills would be a plus.
financial or project management knowledge would be a plus.
This contract position requires you to work on-site in Geneva, Switzerland.
Additional international travel to one of WHO's regional and country
offices may be required. A round-trip plane ticket is provided, but no
relocation assistance. Legally-married spouses and dependents are
permitted, but must be brought over at your expense.

The initial contract will be for 3-4 months. If the work is satisfactory
during the initial contract, it is anticipated that the contract will be
renewed on an on-going basis.
