     I am *not* implying that editor is somehow less that a writer. I think
     that they are different people, with different training. Both
     basically "know" the same things, but have different aptitudes and
     druthers. Most editors I have worked with though they were the
     authorities, period.

     I thank Benny for his invention of bifocals, but he wasn't to smart
     with electricity. (Most of us don't fly kites in electrical storm,
     with keys tied on the kite string to boot!)

Benjamin Franklin, Edgar Alan Poe, and H.L. Mencken found it possible
to lower themselves to editing, to name just three.
