Chris, does this really have to be a single 29 meg document?

1) If you have large graphics or lots of them, how about linking to
them rather than physically inserting them in the main doc? That
way you only have to send graphics if they change, which shouldn't
be too often.

2) How about splitting the document into several files, one per chapter
or section? Once again, you only have to send chapters that change.
*Don't* use Word's Master Document "feature", which I believe is
still horribly broken. There is a well-known workaround using RD
fields -- try searching the techwr archives for details.

3) What's wrong with zipping the files? Most recent compression software
should let you split the compressed file into a few chunks for easier
sending.

4) If your graphics are a problem, depending on their format you may be
able to compress them substantially. For example, GIFs are already
compressed, but compressed TIFFs, especially of screen shots, are
dramatically smaller than the originals with no loss of quality.
