DISTANCE EDUCATION CONFERENCE

Second Annual Conference

Visions of the Future: Distance Learning for th 21st Century
March 2-4, 1997 (Sunday-Tuesday)
Civic Center
Lubbock, Texas

This is a national conference for educators and administrator in K-12,
higher education, library services, health care, as well as trainers
and human resource personnel from industry. The conference will focus
on

· understanding how technology can be used to deliver education and
health care · discovering what industrial training and re-education of
the technical work force have available · forming partnerships to
expand delivery capabilities · using new technologies in classrooms
and health care facilities · making decisions regarding technology in
education and health care

Keynote speakers
· Don R. Foshee, president, Texas Distance Learning Association
· David A. Cole, president, Texas, Southwestern Bell
· Sally M. Johnstone, Director of the Western Cooperative for
Educational Telecommunications

With support from the Advanced Technological Education program (ATE)
of the National Science Foundation, we will transmit live sessions to
several remote sites around the country. For information on location

The Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA) will hold its 2nd
Annual Meeting and General Membership Program on Tuesday, March 4,
1997. From 2:00- 6:00 P.M. in conjunction with this year's Visions
Conference.

As an extra incentive for on-site conference attendees, TxDLA will
offer reduced rates on new or renewed membership as part of a special
Visions package priced at $99. This price includes full registration
for all conference events, attendance at the TxDLA Annual Meeting and
a one-year membership in the organization.

Registration fees:
· Basic Conference Registration: $79 (includes admission to all
sessions, keynote address/dinner and 2 keynote address/luncheons) ·
Conference registration and individual TxDLA membership: $99

The Second Annual Visions for the Future Conference is sponsored by
Texas Tech University Personal and Professional Development, the
Southwest Center for Advanced Technological Education (SCATE), and the
Advanced Technological Education Program (ATE) of the National Science
Foundation.
