Having used a variety of s/w, including VP,
Interleaf,FrameMaker, AmiPro, Island*, Applix*, Word, WP,
..., and, having watched this list's discussion of
FrameMaker's learning curve, I am forced to come to the
conclusion that
1. different software's teminology is difficult baggage to
drag along (e.g. tags vs. components)
2. some folks (including, on occasion, this scrivener)
forget that A is not B and B is not C ... got'ta RT*M (if
there IS a manual ... if there only is OLH, join me in
complaining to the mfgr).
Going between products can be confusing -- even alternating
between 3.1/2.11 and 95 can trip up the fingers once in
awhile.
While I found FrameMaker basically easy to learn, I have
seen people struggle to stop hitting the [Enter]/[Return]
key
at
line's
end.
Bottom line: you'll not get consensus on this learning Q.
