But not me. I boldly assert that many people end up being good at the
things they study, and are not so good at the things they didn't
study.
Reminds me of a Soviet study. The Soviets were looking for a determinant of
chess ability, so they could pick those kids out quickly and send them
special training. To discover this, they did a detailed study of chess
grandmasters, looking for a factor that would indicate success. They found
one factor which had a positive correlation with success at chess: time
spent at the chessboard!
