NO!
Being a good technician/engineer/developer requires a specific set of
skills. Being a good writer requires a specific set of skills. Having one
of these sets of skills does not preclude you from having the other,
although I often hear a lot of comments to the contrary on this list. IMO,
it doesn't matter which of these sets of skills you learned first, as long
as you learned them well.
