Once in a while someone will e-mail the list or one of us on how to
proceed in their quest to become a technical writer/communicator. One
resource we keep overlooking is this list. Any person that wants to
learn the ins and outs, heartbreaks and triumphs of being a technical
writer could gain a lot just lurking or taking an active part in this
list. I daresay this would be the virtual equivalent of the way
novitiates/acolytes/whatsthatword used to apprentice themselves to
more-established people in their chosen field [I think it is called
Mentoring in this day, age and place]. At least one person has asked for
*a* mentor'ed; but isn't that what we are constantly doing for each
other in the first place?

I am in this soapbox mode because I just switched to DIGest mode and
hope to try and just lurk now on.

Sabahat.
