Fellow writers: (Is the use of "fellow" sexist? It IS gender specific. Or
used to be.)

There is a current thread on TECHWR_L called Silly Tests which started as a
discussion of testing for technical writers (like typing and computer use
tests) as part of hiring procedures. It has degenerated (?) into a
discussion of what words are appropriate for use on a list server like
TECHWR_L. You might want to look at a couple of the most recent
ones--agree? Disagree? (On both/either the language question and the
possibility of a "fair" and useful testing mechanism for writers.)

Sorry, Gus, I forgot to give you the thread name!
