Karen Wiley asked:
Does everyone edit hard copy only or do some of you edit online?
I edit both on paper and online and when I make marks on the paper I use
red or burgundy ink or sometimes turquoise, depending on my mood! No one
I have worked with in the past seems offended by the red color, but they
are surprised sometimes at the number of marks. I qualify most of my
marks as "suggestions" and I note absolute errors with additional
highlighting. I mostly do the corrections myself so I don't always mark
everything I do to the document. If I know someone else will be making
the changes, I'm neater and more thorough with my proofreader's marks.
