Missing School:
--------------

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is basically an Engineering school, but
has a Tech Writing program with a BS and an MS in Technical
Communication and a PhD in Communication that a lot of times ends up
addressing a TC topic. I will not venture to comment on how good/bad the
program is, being fresh out of there and not having exposure to other
programs. Maybe Grant can chime in here.

You also missed out U Minn. [or is it Minnesota State?] which I am told
is pretty good. I know Carnegie-Mellon has a TW program of sorts. And I
find the English Department at OSU is pretty well-represented in the
field at times. Help, someone.

Other:
-----

I have been thinking for a while that there should be a place where we
have case studies/experiences available to people, since most of us have
taken a circuitous path to where we currently are. A sort of list of
"How I became a Tech Writer" stories. Or is that too
pretentious/cheesy/too much like something we don't want to identify
with ... I figure that, given the stage our profession is in, these will
be more helpful than a 1-2-3-4... list of "How to Become a Tech Writer
[or Tech Comm'er]". Or it might help us all come up with one.

Sabahat.
