Stacey,

You might check out Guidelines for Enterprise-wide GUI Design. It does
not do much explaining of the theories--it gives quidelines and
examples. If you buy the more expensive version, it comes with a CD-ROM
containing all the files so that you can adapt them to your own
situation. Published by Wiley & Sons.
