My question to Mark:

What rule would you have WP developers use? The first one that comes to mind is

        "If the next character after the period-space is lowercase, it's not a sentence break. If the next character is uppercase, it is a sentence break."

Then what happens when you put the phrase "Mr. Levinson" in the middle of a sentence? Maybe you need a table of exceptions to the rule. The table would comprise all honorifics used in - what? - the "native" language of the typist. That doesn't allow for imported ones like "M." (fr.) and "Srta." (sp.).

I think the WP developers will solve this problem immediately after the grammar-checker developers solve theirs! (:-)
