I didn't even think of that.
When I referred facetiously to a worm drive, I was thinking of that gizmo we
used to attach to our homemade telescopes to help them keep an image in view
by compensating for the earth's rotation.
I think the term refers more generally to a device that allows a powerful
motor to produce a precise movement. They may be used to control head motion
