I am going to have to take a look at Paint Shop Pro. For
now, however, I use Corel's C Capture because it allows me
to capture full desk top, current area, or client
area--giving me a little more control. I manipulate the
image files in PhotoShop.
As to image file sizes, I'm sure everybody already knows
this, but you can reduce the size of your files
substantially by reformatting them from RGB to "index
color." This reduces them to about 1/3. Also, keep in mind
that by reducing the two dimension by 25%, you cut the file
size to 50%. It isn't really hard to reduce a 500kb file to
50kbs and not lose anything important. By making certain
that your pixel setting is at 72 (sometimes we find our
pixel settings at 150 or higher--of no value on a screen),
you can sometimes reduce them even more.
Hoping that this is useful, and not just pedantic--
