Sounds like you need a program like Lview pro which, in the latest version,
allows you to pick your desired BG transparent colour with its eye dropper
tool. -- Your problem is likely that the default transparent colour is
colour index 0 or 255 -- remember that for GIFs, which colour is the
transparent colour is a function of its number (position) in the pallette,
not its RGB value or anything.
