At the Price Waterhouse national admin center in Tampa, Florida, I am an
Education Specialist involved primarily in custom software course development
and training, both in-house and at our regional practice offices throughout the
country. Training documentation and help file development are also part of my
work activities.
Even though many of the regional centers have been using CBT for training for
quite some time, the admin office is still entrenched in using only stand-up
classroom training for our custom software applications. Hopefully, CBT will
soon be given more serious consideration. Providing CBT, training
documentation, help files, and just-in-time training thru the WWW and Lotus
Notes 4.0 are primary interests for me.
Currently, I am working toward a master's degree in Instructional Technology at
the University of South Florida. This semester, I have chosen self torture in
the form of a distance learning course in Visual Basic. Despite occasional
bouts of total frustration, the course is actually quite good. Visual Basic
appears to be quite a powerful development tool. But not being a true
programmer at heart, I will probably do better with a program like Authorware.
Well, not to ramble on, I look forward to corresponding with fellow Techwr-ls
(and also Trdev-ls).
