The term "SME" is also used by industry and
originates from Qualification Programs (Initial & Continuing
Training). The technical writing field adopted the term to
assist the interview process during data gathering.
Inserting "Subject Matter" in front of "Expert", qualifies
the individual. The term SME is borrowed for good reason
since NO person is expert in everything..... as all you very
nicely mentioned in prior posts to Chris Hulin.

(does anyone have an aspirin? What was that reaction to
my not wanting product marketing on this list? Good grief)

Hope you all have a nice enjoyable weekend
Regards,
Guy McDonald
