Jason, I've not heard of writing internships, per se, but I HAVE had
three grown children who've been "interns" in their differing fields, and
ALL of them have been paid, albeit little, though MORE than minimum!!! My
daughter is a systems analyst mgr, after 5 yrs, and started as coop when
she was a college soph. Still in same bs. as she started as coop. But she
started @ $9/hr. That was nearly 10 yrs ago!!
My son, a "visual communications" major, (graphic artist, computer...) is
interning right now... @ $7/hr w/ an architect co. My other son, a
financial analyst has had a similar experience when he too was a student.
All three have had different fields, but they had a paycheck in common.
Why should the writers settle for NOTHING??
