Mary:

A library is a great spot to look for information. See if they have any Video
Arts management training videos you can borrow--Video Arts was started by John
Cleese, of Monty Python fame, and each one is excellent. Two of my favorites:
Meetings, Bloody Meetings; and Who Sold You This, Then? (teaches customer
service techniques to repair technicians).

Cleese also did a video about why he does his videos the way he does--by first
showing (in very funny ways) how you do it wrong; then showing you how you do
it right. This contradicts some standard rule that says, "Don't ever show your
trainees how to do it wrong, because they'll learn to do it wrong."

The Video Arts U.S. number is 800/553-0091; they're based in Chicago.

Also look for _Training_ magazine--excellent and thought-provoking articles on
all aspects of adult training.

_Technical Communication_ published an issue concentrating on video production:
Vol. 40, No. 4. See especially S.M. Shelton, "Script Design for Information
Film and Video," pp. 655-663.

Good luck!
