Richard,

Some ideas for you.

Is it possible to get some of the "real" :) developers to
champion your cause? Especially project leaders who may have the
most to lose (docs) if you leave? Find allies, lobby for inclusion.

Never cut off your own nose to spite the company. Use that desk,
equipment, phone, fax in an orderly and **effective** job search.
Do not make loud noises about job searching until new job is in
hand, and a couple of other offers are in the bush.

Determine that you are going to find a better job by far.

Get that job.

Build your importance to the new company so that this does not
happen to you again.

Build an army of Allies. Do lots of favors so that you have lots of
chips to call in at times like these.

DON'T, DO NOT, let your anger distort your rational thinking.

Continuously compare this job with other jobs you might find.
Possibly this job you have now is still better than any other job
you can find. If so, keep it. Don't allow your anger at some dolt
cause you to slip bacwards economically or professionally. Continue
waging your war of wages at your leisure.

Keep your wits about you!
