In the Multimedia arena, you call a writer a writer. It's the same as it's in
the Television, Radio, or Film industry: a writer is a writer is a writer.

It's the fault of the writers who wrote the article(s) you are referring to
that they didn't include the occupation of writer within the Multimedia salary
survey. Why don't write a letter to the publisher or editor of the magazine
complaining that they didn't include the most necessary element of the
multimedia equation: the writer. Someone has to write the script,
storyboard, and other pre-planning steps that MUST be done before any sort of
production is done (whether the production's done on paper, on film,
videotape, television, or multimedia).
