From James Perkins:

Some comment from my Canadian work associate after the replies about the
"pound/hash" sign:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Dear colleague James,

Please send this on to that techwriting bulletin board thing.
I've read the postings that came in from all over the world,
one written by a fellow Canuck! So the # mark is known
variously as a hash mark, a pound sign, and whatever the
english fellow called it... That'll teach me to speak
with a voice of authority! I guess as these things go,
you learn that something is called something way back in
your youth, and that name is what you subsequently defend.
I apologise, everyone, and I'd like to suggest that from
now on the thing be called "pound of hash". Let's smoke
it and have done with it.

Svend.
