I love it when a plan comes together!!
For a year or more on a project, I plan the manual set,
get the plan approved,
get the team together,
push and shove with Development,
reel from their changes,
laugh at tighter schedules,
cheer schedule slips,
rewrite my plan,
boost up the team,
keep info flowing,
dodge incoming fire,
artfully obfuscate,
add a new manual,
tighten schedules,
revise my plan,
re-boost the team,
dodge more incoming fire,
add a new manual,
get my own research and writing done,
scrounge machine time,
work late,
sleep in the office overnight,
fix dam printer,
rush boxes of masters to FedEx,
and at last meet the deadline with all manuals complete,
!!ahead of Development!!
and order pizzafest for all hands.
When I totally realize "I DID IT! IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING!",
the personal satisfaction makes it all worth it.
I try to see that each person on the team gets the same feeling!
