Hey, if you can get a job -- then you're a tech writer.
If not, then you're something else. The fate of the free world probably
does not depend on this thread. I throw myself on the mercy of would-be
flamers, okay? It's just that many of the twirlers I know came to this
via a back door, before colleges had degrees in this stuff. It seems to
me to be a combination of common sense, a feel for the language, and an
understanding of the reader's frustrations. Did I miss something?
