Harris Corporation, Controls Division, located in Melbourne, FL
has a need for a level 2 Technical Writer. If you know of anyone who

The job responsibilities for a level 2 technical writer include the following:
- Write, edit, update, and review both on-line and hard copy
technical documentation for one or more assigned projects.
(Writing samples must be provided.)
- Work independently, requiring minimal supervision.
- In consultation with the team leaders, assess overall documentation
requirements for assigned projects and prepare all or part of required
documentation.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of documentation.
- Coordinate technical and editorial reviews and ensure that required
changes are made.
The following qualifications are desire:
- A B.S. degree Communications or equivalent.
- Two or more years experience writing technical documentation
to commercial specifications.
- Experience writing/editing software documentation including, but
not limited to user guides, software descriptions, and
overview documentation.
- Proven editing skills.
- Experience editing a single document to which multiple authors
contributed.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills (must
be able to work several projects simultaneously).
- A comprehensive working knowledge of FrameMaker 4 (should
include knowledge of book builiding)
- A working knowledge of UNIX, vi text editor, and
the software development process.
- A team player and a quick learner.
