Hello, fellow TECHWR-Lers!
It's been months since I've been able to participate in any discussions with
you. I feel downright threadbare.
About 18 months ago I posted a query from a sister company that lacks Internet
access. They were so thrilled with the response that they've asked if I could
post yet another question.
If you have any thoughts regarding what they're trying to accomplish, please
send them to me directly, and not to the list (since I'm not able even to
diligently read the digests I've been stockpiling lo these months past).

Their dilemma:
================================================
We are currently producing user documentation using Word 6 for
Windows, but would like to produce online help for a program that
runs on several different hardware and software platforms.
The first task we are tackling is a program that runs Cobol code,
probably inside an Oracle Forms 4 program, and will probably be
running on Xwindows on a IBM RS6000 platform.
We are looking for suggestions about how to compile help files for
different platforms, and what programs to use for them, particularly
for the Xwindows environment.
