Why Massachusetts? Well there is a thriving software industry here; and it's
not just MIT. UMass/Amherst and Lowell are excellent Engineering schools.
UMass/Amherst not only has one of the finest basketball teams in the nation,
it also sports a highly acclaimed computer science department. The University
has spun off many software ventures (as well as other businesses). There is
an abundance of talented people in this state. A number of the early computer
giants including Wang, Digital and Data General are based here, but there are
a myriad of other companies both software and hardware.

I have made a fine living for myself as a freelance tech writer out in
Western Massachusetts far away from Route 128, where there is certainly a
great deal of action.

I don't know who wrote the original posting, but get with the program. Geez
and get off the anti- tax bandwagon, there has been a republican governor
here for the last five years.

Massachusetts is lovely state to live in, which is reason enough to begin a
business here, but a large talent pool certainly keeps businesses here.
