A newbie asked how much to charge.

This came up on another list recently. Someone pointed out that there is a
wide range of rates, and companies don't seem to make cost a major factor in
deciding whom to give contracts to.

The writers who think they're worth $100/hr and insist on receiving it seem
to get just as much business as the ones who work for a quarter of that amount.

I think there's a lesson in there somewhere. ...RM
