Word for Windows will generate an on-screen report of Flesch reading ease,
number of passive sentences, Flesch=Kincaid grade level, Coleman-Liau grade
level, and Bormouth grade level. You also get average sentences per paragraph,
word counts, and more.

This utility is part of the Grammar Checker in Word.

Fellow Techwrl-ers:

My sister-in-law is looking for a utilitity or application that can
read text and calculate the Flesch (sp?) readability indes for that
text. I guess this index is similar to the FOG index. The output is
a grade-leave assigned to the text, for example, 8th grade reading level.

Do any of you know of a program that will input text and print out a
detailed analysis/explanation and grade-level assignment according to the
rules of the Flesch Index?

TIA

-Mike
