Technical writers and lurkers,
Brad mentioned a 3-day session by Horton,
Hackos, et al. I found that the STC meeting was a very intensive and
interesting way to get a preview of such a session. The STC
demonstrations and panels were usually 90 minutes long, and top-notch
multi-media presentations by some of the best authors in the field were
great : informative, enthusiastic, well-prepared. It was nice to see
'Safety Dance,:" the prize-winning video, and the display of the
best books, posters, drawings, etc. at the reception. {Although STC is
expensive, it is a nice way to learn about other
specialities within technical communication, and get some tips from
experts on project management, problem analysis, collaborative writing,
visuals, environmental impact statements, computer games, flight
simulators, etc.
Did anyone else on this TECHWR-L list go to DC?
