Several people sent e-mail asking what NewsHound is after
seeing my post, so here is the answer:

NewsHound is a news service that searches large newspapers and
news services like the San Jose Mercury, Chicago Tribume,
Detroit Free Press, AP, Ridder News Service, Kyodo News Service, etc.

You can choose five topics and for each topic search ads, articles,
or both. Writers could select "writer" and find all ads with
writer in them. NewsHounds sends the articles or ads to your
e-mail. You can narrow your search by including other words
or words that you don't want. The search repeats every hour.

Be as specific as you can. If you use "Clinton" without a
qualifier or two, your mail box will fill up fast.
You can change search criteria anytime.

I find NewsHound to be a great research tool, and it is interesting
to read how the news is reported in other parts of the country.
The price is $4.95 a month, a rare bargain these days.

Call 1-800-818-NEWS to ask questions or sign up.
