Actually, the differences between them are not as clearly
defined as you might think. Verbal has to do with communication
via words, as opposed to gestures. Technically, a contract is
verbal regardless of whether it is written or spoken.

OTOH, "oral" specifically refers to spoken words, as opposed
to written words. Check you dictionary.

An "oral" contract will not hold up in court; a "verbal" contract
may or may not hold up in court.
