It's pretty easy to disprove broad generalizations like that with
counter-examples, myself for one. I know what 'to diss' means from
watching television (::blush:: yes, I admit it, I watch Fox network!) aimed
at young urban audiences. Being neither and knowing very few who fall into
that demographic group, I have never been in a conversation in which 'to
diss' was used as a normal part of speech.
