Hello!

My name is Guinevere S. Healy, and I was given this listserv address by
my Technical Writing Professor.

I am currently in Graduate School but it is proving to not be a good match.
I would prefer to be out in the working world. However, as I search for
jobs in Technical Writing I see that a lot of employers wish for five years
of experience. I have one year of experience writing large case proposals,
medical case management files, and other technical documents for an
insurance company.

What I am wondering is this: Where do I look for positions in technical writing
and related fields? I am good at what I do, and I have other skills
(knowing a lot of different computer systems) which enhance my hirability.
However I am not sure where to look nor how to approach this job search.

Anyone out there with any advice, please write to my email address.

Also, my Undergraduate degree is a BA in Literature and Creative Writing.
WIll that help or hurt my chances of getting a technical position?

I am willing to relocate anywhere, especially Boston, but i will go
anywhere there is a job for me.

Thanks for your time and advice.

Sincerely,
Guinevere S. Healy
