The SGML Forum of New York invites you to attend
Converting Your Data to SGML
Date: Tuesday, March 14th, 1995
Place: McGraw-Hill, Inc.
2nd Floor Training Rooms
1221 Avenue of the Americas (lobby entrance off 49th Street)
Agenda: 5:30 Registration and Opening Remarks
5:45 Keynote Speaker: Mark Gross, Data Conversion Laboratory
7:00 Vendor Demonstration: Chip Pettibone, EBT
Everybody's got legacy data. Those are the existing documents you have to
keep publishing, even as you make the move to an SGML system.
Converting those word processed/desktop published files into SGML is
major project in and of itself.
At the March meeting, Mark Gross, President of Data Conversion
Laboratory, a leading SGML conversion firm, will talk about the problem
areas that you'll encounter when you convert existing files, and ways to
resolve those problems. Mark brings years of practical experience with
SGML conversion projects, large and small, to his presentation, so come
prepared to take notes.
For our vendor demonstration, Chip Pettibone will demonstrate DynaTag,
an automated conversion tool from Electronic Book Technologies, Inc. (EBT).
DynaTag provides a point-and-click interface for mapping styles and formats
in a Word or FrameMaker document to an SGML structure. Chip will
demonstrate how DynaTag can be used as a general purpose conversion tool
or as input to a DynaText publishing operation.
