Subject:Let users print manuals? From:Mark Levinson <mark -at- SD -dot- CO -dot- IL> Date:Sun, 26 Feb 1995 15:20:49 IST
This is a good idea, but...
** Here's another reservation: if you leave the printing of manuals
up to your users, they will presumably be printing on 8.5-by-11
paper... an unwieldy size compared to most recent high-quality
documentation. Likely one-sided. Not to mention the sort of
binding (if any) that the users will be resorting to. And they won't
blame themselves for the primitive results. As Emily says about
output difficulties in general, "even if it's entirely due to customer
stupidity--it will reflect on your product and your company."
